Meghan Markle and Harry appear for first time since pregnancy news in Spotify video

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made their first appearance since they announced they are expecting their second child and being stripped of their royal patronages.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took part in a Spotify event on Monday to announce new content as part of their multi-million pound deal with the audio streaming giant.

Justin Bieber and Blackpink were among the singers and musicians who appeared during the Spotify Steam On event.

It was unclear when the video of Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, was recorded.

The couple, who have this month been stripped of their patronages by the Queen, confirmed the pregnancy on Valentine's Day.

It is thought that former Suits actress Meghan, 39, is about five months pregnant and the baby is due in early summer.

In a video clip released by Spotify, the couple say they are using podcasts to "drive powerful conversations that inspire, challenge and educate".

The pair, already parents to one-year-old Archie, have also scored a lucrative deal with Netflix.

Meghan, sitting on a sofa next to her husband, says in the video: "We created Archewell Audio to make sure that we can elevate voices that maybe aren't being heard... and hear people's stories."

Harry adds: "The biggest part of this is trying to create this community of where you can share (and) encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space."

New details about Meghan's pregnancy and the couple's split from the Royal Family could be revealed when Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview with close pal Oprah Winfrey is shown during a primetime TV special on the US network CBS on March 7.

Harry and Meghan were this month stripped of their roles and patronages by the Queen, who suggested a "life of public service" is not compatible with the Sussexes' lucrative new career in the US.

The couple fired back with a statement in which they argued "service is universal".

It is said Harry did not inform the Queen that he and Meghan had given an intimate interview with former daytime talk show giant Oprah.

His grandfather, Prince Philip, 99, remains in a London hospital.

The Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, and Prince William and Kate Middleton will take part in a special television programme celebrating the Commonwealth, just hours before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Oprah interview is aired in the US.

Megxit was finalised in a 12-month review last week when Buckingham Palace confirmed Harry and Meghan would never return as working royals, and that the Queen had stripped them of their royal patronages and Harry of his honorary military roles.

They also lost their positions as president and vice-president of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT).

The Sussex camp retorted with a parting shot by saying: "We can all live a life of service. Service is universal," prompting accusations they were sticking two fingers up at the institution of the monarchy and being disrespectful to the Queen and her decades of public duty.
