Proud grandad Prince Charles has an adorable photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son Archie taking pride of place in his home office.

After nearly a year of restrictions, even royalty have been forced to work from home and images from the beginning of the pandemic show a rare glimpse into Prince Charles's office.

Photos and books could be seen in the background as Prince Charles opened the NHS Nightingale hospital in London last year by video call.

Speaking from his Scottish residence, Birkhall, Charles was surrounded by home comforts, personal trinkets and family photos.

The 71-year-old's home office set-up features pictures of the Queen, his sister Princess Anne and his sons William and Harry.

In a previously unseen snap, Prince Charles appears to be holding his youngest grandchild Archie Harrison.

The black and white photograph sits pride of place on the piano as a reminder of his grandchild who has since moved to LA.

The Prince and his wife Camilla spent the first coronavirus lockdown isolating in Scotland.

He was recorded in April sitting in front of a piano which is covered in photos of his family, including snaps of Harry, Meghan, Kate and Prince George as well as a snap from his wedding day to Camilla.

Charles, who alongside Archie has three other grandchildren - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - is set to become a grandfather for the fifth time with Meghan and Harry expecting their second child.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the happy news in the middle of a tumultuous week for the Royal Family which saw the Queen strip the couple of their royal patronages in the wake of their decision to quit the Firm and move to the US.

A review of their position was due next month, and the situation is said to have saddened the monarch.

The Queen insisted they “remain much loved members of the family” but there was “no way back” for the couple.

It came as Harry and Meghan confirmed a tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview had been recorded and is set to be aired next month.

Meanwhile, Prince Philip was admitted to the King Edward VII hospital last Tuesday.

On Monday, Prince William assured that his grandfather “is okay” and confirmed doctors are “keeping an eye on him.”
